The Cheesecake Factory had humble beginnings dating back to 1940 when Evelyn Overton came across a recipe in her local newspaper that inspired her original cheesecake recipe. In 1972, Evelyn and her husband Oscar opened the first Cheesecake Factory in Los Angeles, California. Today, there are over 200 restaurants in the United States.
